Leading up to America’s 250th anniversary in 2026, America250 and the NFL have teamed up for a multi-year awards program celebrating Americans who exemplify the American spirit. Coinciding with the 20th anniversary of September 11th, entrants were invited to nominate a hero in their life whose heroism was inspired by the events of that historic day. Three exceptional Americans were selected and honored with an award presented live on the field during an NFL Game on Thanksgiving Day.
