In the interest of discovering new talent for their shows, ABC has conducted the ABC Discovers Contest for the past 5 years. Aspiring actors submit a video of their character performance (selected from provided script options), which are then judged by a panel of ABC representatives. The winner receives a talent holding agreement with ABC. Due to the success of the contest in the U.S., in 2016, ABC sponsored the program in the U.K. as well.
